Incident at a Third-Party Service Provider
A third-party service provider has experienced a cybersecurity incident. Standard Bank Isle of Man Limited's banking systems and services have not been compromised and continue to operate normally.
Standard Bank Isle of Man Limited (“Standard Bank”) is responding to a cybersecurity incident involving one of our third-party service providers.
The service provider has confirmed that certain Standard Bank client data was present in the affected environment. At this stage, investigations are still ongoing to determine the scope and impact of the incident. Clients identified as potentially affected will be contacted directly.
Importantly, Standard Bank’s banking systems, infrastructure and services have not been compromised and continue to operate normally.
We believe it is important to share this information, rather than wait for the investigation to conclude.
As a precaution, we encourage all clients to follow these good security practices:
- Use strong, unique passwords.
- Enable biometric authentication where available.
- Monitor your accounts for suspicious activity.
- Never share your password, PIN or OTP with anyone, including Standard Bank.
- Be cautious of unexpected emails, SMSs and calls.
- Verify requests for personal or banking information.
- Avoid suspicious links and unfamiliar websites.
We recognise that this situation may be concerning and we thank you for your patience and understanding while investigations continue. Transparency and the protection of our clients’ information remain our top priorities.
