Melville Douglas makes Citywealth IFC Awards shortlist
We are thrilled to announce that Melville Douglas has been shortlisted for Investment Management Company of the Year – Channel Islands & Isle of Man in the Citywealth IFC Awards 2025. Additionally, Justin Maloney, our Head of Global Equities, has been shortlisted for Investment Manager of the Year in the same prestigious awards.
The Citywealth IFC Awards recognise the excellence of the advisers and managers in the private wealth sector in the major international financial centres. Being shortlisted in these competitive categories underscores the exceptional standards upheld by Melville Douglas and our team’s commitment to delivering superior investment management services and results.
As the boutique investment management firm of Standard Bank Group Melville Douglas is renowned for its personalised service and robust investment strategies. Our consistent performance over the years has earned us a stellar reputation, as evidenced by our record client numbers and assets under management.
For instance, from May 2023 to May 2024 the Melville Douglas Global Equity fund has seen impressive growth, increasing in value from USD 0.88 billion to USD 1.08 billion, a remarkable 23% year-on-year increase. This growth is a testament to our strategic investment approach and our ability to adapt to market conditions, thereby delivering value to our clients.
The success of this fund, in particular, is behind Justin Maloney’s shortlisting. As head of global equities at Melville Douglas, he leads a team of eight global equity fund managers and investment analysts. Under his stewardship, the Melville Douglas Global Equity fund has consistently outperformed benchmarks and peers.
“Justin’s career is defined by his relentless pursuit of superior risk adjusted returns for clients,” comments Chris Stead, Head Melville Douglas International. “Under Justin’s direction our global equity team has and continues to be developed through constant innovation, empowerment, and a clear vision. The stability of the team, their skillsets and the delivery of truly great short, medium, and long term absolute and relative investment performance is something that both Justin and Melville Douglas can be proud of.”.
We are eagerly anticipating the Citywealth IFC Awards ceremony in January 2025. With the judges having assessed all entries and announced the shortlist, industry peers and clients can place their vote online.
The deadline to vote online is 27 September 2024, while the awards ceremony will be held on 28 January 2025.
The online voting counts for 10% of the vote and will be taken into consideration by the judges when they make their final decision.
