Standard Bank Fiduciary Specialist shortlisted for Citywealth Powerwomen Award

Nitrisha Doorasamy, a Fiduciary Specialist and Business Development Manager in the Standard Bank International Fiduciary Services team, has been shortlisted for a Citywealth Powerwomen Award in the category ‘Woman of the Year – Career Initiative’.

These awards spotlight individuals and companies who maximise the potential of women in wealth and exercise positive social influence on the sector, celebrating diversity. The ‘Woman of the Year – Career Initiative’ award recognises women who have demonstrated the ability to seek opportunities, be resourceful and think ahead, and who have taken proactive steps in their careers to achieve their success to date.

“I feel immensely privileged to have been shortlisted for this award,” Nitrisha says. “I am a passionate believer in creating opportunities that enable others to grow and feel empowered, and I am fortunate to work for a company that shares my values and supports my ambitions as a woman in the wealth sector. I would like to thank Standard Bank’s International Fiduciary Services team for nominating me for this prestigious accolade.”

Nitrisha, who is a highly accomplished South African qualified attorney and a STEP Trusts and Estates Practitioner, is responsible for driving the trust business growth within the local market in South Africa. In addition to forging strategic partnerships with group stakeholders and intermediaries, Nitrisha uses her extensive experience to help families and corporates with the implementation of bespoke offshore trusts and fiduciary structures.

Nitrisha’s professional achievements have garnered industry recognition, from Legal500 in the United Kingdom to being named as one of eprivateclient’s Top 35 under 35 in both the Channel Islands and the UK. Nitrisha also recently won the prestigious STEP Excellence Award, which recognises the top graduates of the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management.

In addition to her work and family commitments, Nitrisha oversees the Sayuri Padayachee Charitable Foundation, a South African non-profit organisation which aims to create transformative change in the lives of those in need. She was also part of a team responsible for the Channel Islands launch of the International Ladies in Trusts Association, a networking organisation that promotes and supports women working in the trust industry at all stages of their careers.

“Nitrisha has made an exceptional impact since joining our team, achieving notable success in a very short space of time,” says Jonathan Sprigg, Head of International Fiduciary Services at Standard Bank. “She approaches each task with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and a strong focus on achieving the business’s goals. Her drive, determination, and willingness to embrace new challenges prove that she is indeed a Powerwoman to be reckoned with, and we are delighted that she has been shortlisted for this award.”
